Mmm im sure they install with the OS, but you can normally download the drivers on the website of your motherboard manufacture or some 3rd party, If that is the issuse here.

Cable or driver problem according to info i found . Uninstall and remove firewire -restart pc -let windows re-install drivers .Good luck because youll need it ,via does not have firewire drivers for download neither asus website .

I still have this issue. The only way I can get it to work is by disabling it and enabling it.
