iKey, a world leader in manufacturing rugged keyboards, pointing devices, and displays for military applications, introduces the SLK-880-FSR-USB-H. The SLK-880-FSR-USB-H offers many of the standard features our customers have to come to rely on in the rugged mobile keyboard line with the addition of a USB hub. Integrated directly in the case, the USB 2.0 hub makes this keyboard ideal for military applications where outlets and space are at a premium.

Available in a night vision (NVIS) compliant configuration, the SLK-800-FSR-USB-H features adjustable LED green backlighting with two brightness control keys. An integrated Black Out key allows users to quickly extinguish all LEDs and retain the same brightness settings when turned back on.

The integrated Force Sensing Resistor (FSRTM) serves as a complete pointing device solution. Using fewer mechanics than most pointing devices, the FSR's only moving part is the silicone rubber pad which includes a left- and right-click button.

Engineered for durability, the SLK-880-FSR-USB-H meets MIL-STD-461 specifications and exceeds NEMA 4x requirements. This keyboard passed drop tests at 2.0 meters on concrete and the cable strain relief exceeded 25 pound pull limits.

"Built to perform through shock, vibration and humidity, the SLK-880-FSR-USB-H comes in a conductive plastic case designed for enhanced electro magnetic interference (EMI) performance," said Jim Mayo, controller at iKey. "The durability and features packed into this compact design provide our clients with a top performing, keyboard like no other."

The SLK-880-FSR-USB-H measures 6.84" x 11.45" x 1.15" (w-h-d), and comes with a USB cable. The key spacing layout on the industrial silicone rubber keypad utilizes specifications from the MIL-HNBK-759C handbook and includes a 10-key number pad. The small footprint and integrated mounting holes with stainless steel mounting inserts make it an excellent keyboard for integration into military vehicles used in the air, on land or at sea.

The SLK-880-FSR-USB-H will be featured and available for demonstrations at DefExpo 2012, March 29th - April 1st in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India. For more information on this product, visit iKey online at www.ikey.com or visit iKey's YouTube Channel for a product demo on the SLK-880-FSR-USB-H.

I like it. I wish netbooks came with such a keyboard.
Also looks terrific to pair it up with a tablet.
