my new one has a claimed contrast ratio of 2500 to one.. notice i say "claimed".. basically a monitor is something u should go to a store and look at.. but in the internet world we cant do that..

i have never seen a really bad lcd panel to be honest.. i aint seen one i cant pick faults with either.. its a very subjective thing.. i am still trying to get used to this new crystal brite shiny thing i now have.. matt or shiny.. take your pick..

the only thing i know is i aint gonna pay £600 for one.. he he

About 3 years ago i bought a Samsung 19" 8ms LCD Monitor it was brand new.

after connecting it up i discovered it had literally 100s of dead pixels ,so it was replaced ,and the new 1 was ok as far as dead pixels but..

for a Samsung product u rightly expect it it to do wat u pay for but this model was terrible for gaming tbh ,it had bad ghosting/blurring in "EVERY" game i pld ,games i tried included Quake 2 + 3 ,Command and conquer ,Age of Empires ,Colin Mcrae Rally and each game ghosted/blurred terribly.
i sold it within 1 week of owning it,and didnt tocuh another LCD until the end of 2006
which was a Hanns-G 19" 5ms and this christmas just past i bought my current Samsung.

Just shows no matter wat the Brand name of a screen doesnt mean its going to do what you want.
