i'm going to buy a new agp card today. i would like to step up up to pci, but not just yet.

i'm replacing a x800xl, which gets moved to my other machine(24/7 bot on silkroad online lolz)
that machines 9700pro gets moved to my moms machine. so you see 1 more agp upgrade make sence for me everyone wins. especially mom, and thats important.

i think i've narrowed my choices down to these 2 cards

the prices are close enough to make the decision hard. would the 512mb card be able to overclock as high, or would the extra mem be a hindrance? i know every card is different so no way to know max oc till i try. or is the 512 just marketing hype and provide no real word difference.

my monitor supports 1680x1050 so i would like to game at higher resolutions.

if i've missed any options as far as nvidia cards, please let me know. i've just been shopping newegg. so if anyone knows of a better deal please post. my budget is about $250 dollars. less is always better of course. hehe

ok thanks all, i look forward to your thoughts on this.

oops i just saw that Scrizz responded in a thread i hijacked the other day. he recomended this --

is the x1950gt the same as a x1950pro just lower clocks?
i already have one of these here waiting to be installed on my new card when i get it, so cooling shouls be no problem --
