I personally prefer GN.net more than TPU.

With that said, I think there's only been one non spam thread that's been locked and probably very few (if any) member bans over there. I can only think of a few flame wars too, which is pretty good.

I want everyone to know rather than pm you, i am not being abusive i was being very civil, its not an argument its a discussion not about GN.net in general, whether i like it or not, if it should stay those type of discussions im trying to discuss what topics can stay here not just make this a totally PC related forum rather defeating the name of the site.

Im all for a professional forum, i dont want to post as if it was facebook that is not what im saying, i think that the problem is people thought that old GN was a social networking sub forum and the new one just crazy picture thread and lolz and all the arguments they wanted like should Cannabis be made legal? Thread quality is a matter of opinion not like its a fact.

EDIT: i dont think you got me correctly, italian cooking is a type of cooking not cooking in general. i wouldnt call a forum for Ford cars THE CAR FORUM its misleading, its like Ford is a brand of cars, cars have a lot of brands i wouldnt post about vauxhall in a ford forum yet i would in a car forum.
You wouldnt call a playstation forum the console gaming forum because its only about playstation, it would be called possibly the Playstation Fan Forum.
I resigned to the fact most lulz topics and heartbreak threads would need to go GN.net but now there is nothing here, i dont understand why the format cant be changed to like other tech related talk, like if i wanted to setup a home cinema i could post about it in a section here. They seem out of place on the new forum, well to me anyway

To be honest i was excited when i heard about gn as it meant the revival of the cpt but also found there is alot more there then just that. I like the laid back attitude as us Aussies are traditionally laid back. The staff there are spot on and give us members the freedom wich all makes for a great atmosphere. Overall ive found it the most enjoyable forum ive been to wich doesnt mean i dont like tpu tpu is great and the best techsite bar none. making the new site has ensured gn has a place with tpu instead of being were it was heading wich was extinct. We should be thankful to W1zz and Dan for giving us an oppotunity to have gn and make it grow and prosper.

the problem was that the crap in GN bled over into the rest of the forums. people were crapping up news posts and serious threads with total and utter shit.

We were handing out too many infractions, too many bans - something had to be done, and w1zz chose to do this.

Yes, we've converted an e-boxing ring (TPU) to an e-moshpit (GN). Once you're done, you share beers and go home. The result is zero bans (other than spammers), close to zero infractions handed out so far.

Yup, and it's either that or closing big threads here one by one because people can't behave until nothing is allowed anymore.

yet again i say i second that as it says it all

    i second that aswell
although i don't think it's being forced on anyone
there's still the usuall yak thread here:confused: (what are you doing just now )
try going to some of the forums i frequent
hm loads of ads pop ups to close some of which require restarting ie 8
    anyway
to wizzard and dan :respect: [IMG] for another great idea
[IMG] i love it it's neat and tidy and i can actually find things
    and to the non beleivers
make suggestions on what you think this site and the other part needs to shine
against the other webpages out there
    over there at http://generalnonsense.net/showthread.php?p=7487#post7487
    no bs though proper suggestions

[IMG]yes you willl have to take all of 1.5 minuets to sign up
dip your toes over at the sea of goodness http://generalnonsense.net
and i'm sure you won't want to come back to the pond
oh and a quick point to this http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=99207

please be carefull young man i'm not the one who started this thread
it was an announcement of things to come
    not a free for all
i should have had a private 1 to 1 with dan
like i said http://generalnonsense.net/showthrea...=7487#post7487 for suggestions;)
if you want to carry on posting in the threads that are still here you can,
    they haven't been closed ,
you haven't been reported or received any infractions ,
and i and no one else has asked for them either, just simply you can't start any new ones
and yes i know you have signed up [IMG]
as i said before the above is just a friendly little tickle in the right direction for all not a shove
if anyone had any problems with what i had said i would have been told
the fact this thread is still going is a miracle,
but that just shows the tolerance of dan
(if it was mine i would have closed it ,not to be awkward,)
anyway i'm not your worst enemy i can get on with anyone so please make your mark on the suggestions over there:) http://generalnonsense.net/showthrea...=7487#post7487 go on you know you want to;)
please remember like btarunr said this site is free
so unless either of us own this site we can't really say much about it moving about
like spock said the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few
and i'm afraid to say we are the few
even if i ran this site the same would apply
although i could have fun teasing more people

    [IMG]maybe i'm giving to much away[IMG]

that is non pc and i think threads like that should be allowed on tpu it dosnt demean the site it is valid tech talk

im not going to post about that on GN.net becasue it seems out of place

im satisfied i am allowed to make tech posts, i thought the whole site would just become PC hardware only

bye bye my problem is resolved by myself

The only thing I don't like about the GN.net is the fact that there seems to be too many subforums. I liked the big clusterfuck of threads about....general nonsense.

Little suggestion I got would be to make a subforum where it would be a kind of huge FEED. Everypost on the forum would be updated on there, so it would be easier to keep an eye on everything... my 2 cents.

I hate GN.net but since we can't do anything about it I don't really have a choice, but I agree, it's a clusterfuck, too many sub forums.

Click the "new posts" button. Both your complaints taken care of as far as reading is concerned. You would only have to worry about subforums if you feel like starting a thread then.

    Or, go to this link.

Sign in with what you would have used for name and password. It should allow you to even without being verified. Change your email (might be able to just re-enter your same e-mail, dunno) and you'll get a confirmation e-mail to that address that you save. It will activate your account on that e-mail and essentially bypass the original activation e-mail.
