Because most people have to learn the hard way that what they think is wrong. I can attest that 75% of Americans are hard headed and once they get in their ways and thought process it takes something like that to make them think otherwise.

But my view on this is, how are you killing dogma, when your "tricking" your own customers. That in itself is bad practice.

How are you tricking? You're not selling it to them, you're just running an experiment. If they had sold it to the test subjects, then it would have amounted to tricking.

They tricked them by saying its a new Windows when it was really Vista. Not really harmful though. As with all experiments it had its good and bad.

Exactly, the fact is they told them it was a new OS, then in the end told them it was in fact Vista. They didn't sell it to them, and they didn't let them go on their merry way thinking it was a new OS. No tricking involved

Yes, it did start somewhere, but it has been fixed, and it's all about what it's like NOW.

True but the thing here is, that this trickery is harmless. Its like tricking your buddy into a suprise party. The only difference between here is these people now know Vista isnt as bad as it USED to be and will probably spread the word. Where as the buddy and the party, well he might get drunk or laid. No harm either way.

The 1st amendment has absolutely no standing here unless this forum is somehow run by the US Federal Government (and it's not). I'm not even sure if this forum is hosted in the US.

But back to the main topic, I still feel Mojave has the potential to bring a lot to the table for Microsoft. Perhaps a new UI and some tweaks could create a Vista lite of sorts for those who have slower systems. They could market that like mad to slower PC users.

i agree with him... its called marketing, i dunno how it'd done in vienna but most semi intelligent people will know this is microsoft trying to sell a product. Hating on this is like hating on commercials, its a waste of time so just shut up and change the channel
