Yeah that's right! Stick it to the man! As long as you can have your SOPA free internet who cares if they took away your right to a fair trial on Jan. 1?! Who cares they can now use the military as a police force and hold you indefinitely without charge! We want to be prosecution free from pirating! THATS what's important.

Why do I have a defeatist attitude? Because as a whole people are stupid. They care more about material things and how the government may effect their acquisition of bling then the fact that same government ALREADY PASSED A LAW that took away their due processes. The NDAA circumvented the 6th and 4th amendment and all people talk about is SOPA. People only care when it may effect them in the immediate future. It wont be until they knock on your door to take you away for talking shit on your "SOPA free" internet will your priorities come clear.

We just got indoctrinated into a police state on January 1 and all you people care about is if youtube will be working this time next year. So yeah.......I have a defeatist attitude. People are stupid and there is nothing I can do about it.

Easier said than done. Try and go convince white-trash girls not to buy the latest album from their favorite diva. Can't be done. (just an example)

NDAA Section 1021 has already happened. Not much we can do about that except take it to the Supreme Court. SOPA/PIPA/OPEN/SOPA+ hasn't happened yet so we can do something about them.

Also remember that Section 1021 was basically pork on the NDAA bill. I bet most that voted for the bill disapprove of that section being appended.

Sure keep believing you can cry louder then the lobbyists wallets are deep. I love how you expect the Supreme Court to rule in favor of the people against the feds. These are the same people who said corporations are people. And keep making excuses for the assholes who signed for the NDAA. Keep telling yourself that lie its bound to come true.

Oh, so you want to just bend over and take it? Like FX said, a defeatist attitude guarantees they will get their way.

Bend over and take it or bend over and take it is your only option. I WANT THEM TO GET THIER WAY. I just wrote an email to my senator stating how much I love the idea of SOPA and the NDAA. Saying I think they are great plans.

This way if we support their BS they will keep going with it and it will push people to the brink so we can reset this crap finally and put the feds back in thier place.

I now fully support SOPA and the NDAA and troops in our streets! LET FREEDOM RING!

I completely agree with xfire, just stop. There is nothing of value to purchase out there right now. And of course do not pirate, it just adds fuel to the fire. Of course this whole thing is way beyond pirating, but it is this which gives them the leverage to continue this sopa crap. Remove the fulcrum they are using to provide this pressure, and it fails. Stop buying their garbage and it fails further. In fact it applies negative pressure, hopefully to the point of stopping them. Now is the time to fight against this, because later it will be too late.

Maybe too late down there, but not up here. I believe people in the past were willing to fight for their freedom, weren't they? Did they not succeed? If enough non-Americans take up the internet fight, things can change. I'm not going to allow a foreign government to take away my rights as a citizen of the world, or my country. I'm certainly not going to allow them to dictate their laws on me. I don't live there, and for good reason. No, the fight has just begun, and it's going to get dam ugly, I guarantee it.

I doubt it. People still stand in line for iPhones and not food. No change will happen until THAT happens.

dont preach that to me. I have held the same opinion as you about NDAA and your view about how SOPA gets millions of people's attention but their loss of due process doesnt

I used to have that same opinion but I have been thinking about it more. 'we the people' are not unified just yet. for us to turn the tables and take back power, something ugly would replace what we have now

either way, things are getting really bad and now it has become materialized to many why all of these censorship bills are being proposed. they dont was us to have forums like this or social networks to unify in a approach to solving the problem and ultimately, taking back our freedom

And to mm, I do feel your pain about that ndaa crap, it is not right also. And it could worm its way up here through your government. That's why we need to take a stand in any way possible. We don't have ndaa up here... yet.. but if we just stand by like sheep, we will. I keep saying, the time to fight is now.

it isnt all internet tough guy talk. there are many movements that are growing and being created. people are waking up to this new reality and joining these movements- hence the censorship legislation

there are states taking measures to nullify NDAA and proposing a return to a gold standard. there are sheriffs meeting to create awareness and learn the constitution that they swore an oath to defend. we have the Ron Paul movement teaching many what made this country great. that is just a few examples, there are many others

raising awareness is crucial right now. we must unify as much as possible as fast as possible before all hell breaks loose. the last thing we want is a civil war and the People vs the Government

    You don't get it.

    The idea isn't profits.

Profits are just a semi-reasonable argument to disguise the real reason they want censorship.

The real reason "the media" want censorship is because "the media" are controlled by some extremely powerful economic monsters at the top. These people (yes there are humans controlling those humongous fortunes), these monstrously rich people also happen to gang up together as a club and realize that together, they control "the media", "big pharma", "big banking", "big military", "big construction", "big technology", and pretty much "big anything else at all". Throwing their weight around, they also control the governments.

Do you think these monstrously wealthy people want money? Put yourself in their shoes... They have ***EVERYTHING***. 500ft long yachts with multiple helipads manned by 100% supermodel-grade babes in bikinis as one of their MANY MANY toys. What, you think they want MONEY? What on earth would they do with it?

    THEY OWN GOVERNMENTS WORLDWIDE.

They don't want no stinking money, THEY PRINT THE STUFF IN THEIR OWN PRIVATE CENTRAL BANKS.

The only thing for them to have is MORE ***POWER***

The power to shut you up.
The power to put you in jail indefinitely.
The power to put you under torture and watch you bleed just for fun.
The power to depopulate the earth so that they can privately enjoy it without YOU getting in the way.

Now you will say, no, they cannot possibly be that evil. So, to you I say, "power corrupts". With the amount of power these people hold now, how corrupt can they possibly be? Yeah they are completely evil, because HAVING doesn't do it anymore. TAKING AWAY FROM OTHERS is the only thing they haven't completely achieved yet.

    So they're working on that.

Dude, I could not have said it better. Kudos for putting it 100% right.

I would thank you 100 times over.

I wonder why... Oh yeah, when they send soldiers in the streets and tell them to "beat up and arrest or rape or kill anyone they don't like"... Youtube will be down, due to someone "infringing copyright law". What a shame huh.

Dude, we are a flyspeck north of the USA. Canada already passed a bill allowing their alphabet agencies (FBI, NSA, etc.) to fully operate in this country. Fun times no? Harper can suck my turds all day.

We are way past that point now. Should have been doing that when LBJ was in office or even FDR. Its over. We need to speed up the process now.

I am sad to say I agree.

Raising awareness is something JFK was trying to do in a speech a long time ago, and most likely the reason why he got assassinated. Little lesson in history here, for those who need it:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jb8KqaerhQ

"Raising Awareness" was for those days when the shitheads could still be stopped.

while I am pissed off that previous generations of people didnt take a firm stance against all of this bs and have placed us in this circumstance, as much as I hate to say it- they didnt have as many pieces of the puzzle as we do now to know what we know. these powers have operated in stealth mode to solidify their position and power

if we initiated right now, there would be many people siding with the government out of sheer ignorance

there is now a lot of evidence and truth is spreading like a plague to the masses and that is why they are trying to censor us because they are losing mindshare of the citizens. I am not saying we have plenty of time to raise awareness but we need at least another 6 months. why fight your neighbor today when he is on your side tomorrow?

Please they knew what was happening. Why do you think all the hippies protested in the streets? No one cared then. No one really cares now. Not until they are starving. Those same hippies are the machine they protested against. This will happen again and again. History demands it. What a patriot needs to do now is embrace it. Push it. So that it comes full tilt. So people cannot ignore it anymore. Like I said I wrote an email to my senator saying how great the NDAA and SOPA is. I hope they keep going full speed with them. Only when they get their way and people finally raise up WILL ANYTHING HAPPEN.

Fighting it will just delay it and thus delay the change we need. Stop fighting it and start supporting it.

It's the boiling frog system. You put a frog in a cookpot filled with cold water. It's comfy. Raise the temperature slowly enough and the frog will stay even when it reaches boiling.

It's the same with people: humans can get used to anything, provided it is presented to them slowly and gently enough.

Make those bills pass fast and hard enough, masses just MIGHT wake up.
