Intel BOXDP45SG LGA 775>Need some answers

A friend o'mine has this board and wants to sell it....
Im currently using a 780i w/q6700 and was wondering if ddr3 is actually gonna do any good cause the max speed is 1333 but higher latency....

I do like the fact its crossfire(cause I cant just use 1 gpu!!)

You'll lose your SLIed GT's and DDR3 isn't worth it to be honest as it wouldnt cost much more to go the i7 route. Keep what you have, and most importantly; keep your hard earned cash.

No on the memory unless the FSB is overclocked and only then with the right high performance memory, my memory does 6-6-6-18 at 1700mhz (with the right voltage and active cooling), now if anyone tells you that 1200mhz at 5-5-5-15 is anywhere near as quick as that is simply wrong. DDR3 is a waste for anyone at the moment (IMO) that does not overclock and to those that do, they will have to spend even more on high grade DDR3. So with my cpu, 1700mhz would give me 3.825mhz 24/7 speed, if a potential DDR3 owner cannot get near those 24/7 speeds then I wouldnt bother.....hope that makes sense.

Well I got the board....

Only had to sacrifice a couple ps3 games I can't stand...

Then I figured I'd get a 1333 cpu THANKS TO BOGMALI --- I got a E6750

Bought 2x1gb G Skill 8-8-8-21 1333 at the egg for only $50!!

Im gonna throw my 7900GTX in there and see what happens

Or I could use 2 (x1950 pro's 256mb)

Or one of my 8800gt's(don't want to!)

This is my XP Gaming RIG So keep that in mind

Im pretty sure this setups gonna FLY!!
