Is anyone buying that ASUS PSUs will have a 500K MTBF?

Mean Time Between Failure. Asus can claim their MTBF all they want. The important thing is warranty, 500K is meaningless and most likely baseless (advertising) if it isn't backed up.

I don't have much doubt the PSU has a 500K MTBF, in Asus labs.

When they test the PSU they will only load it lightly and in a controlled environment....if you keep your PSU around 15 - 20% load and under 20'C ambient in your room you too may see the 500K MTBF quoted by Asus.

Though I don't believe you ever will, I expect it to fail long before that even under ideal circumstances.
