is it possible to make a game run at a higher resolution then it supports?

    i like playing the age of empires series but its is rather old and its max resolution is now where near my monitors native res so is there anyway to make it higher so it doesn't hurt me eyes after half an hour?

    See if it has a configuration file in its main directory open it in note pad and look for the resolution, change it to what you want.

    Doesn't always work but worth a shot : ]

    Oh if yuor in vista/win sven with UAC on, you'll need to move the file to my documents before you edit it.

    As notepad won't have the required permissions to save in program files.

    my solution with those old games is usually just to run them in a window

    Highly dependent on the game, some allow custom resolutions, others don't at all. What game are we talking about?
