Is my board dying?

So I basically have the MSI 890FXA-GD70, I got it when it first got out so please don't give me the endless crap about how sucky the VRM's, and MOSFETS are on this board.

Last night it started to have a weird squealing problem, it sounds like it is coming from the large DRMOS heatsink, which under lies the MOSTFETS..... Should I RMA it or somehow try to return it? I have had it for about three-four months and I got it from Newegg. Thanks

Yah I was thinking about it, I was also thinking about after the RMA putting it up on OCN, TPU, or maybe even Ebay and trying to get a Crosshair IV Formula.

I have sold so many old components on craigslist I am sure a new one would go fine. Do you know if the crosshair supports AM3+?

Yes and no. Certain features will not be available when AM3+ CPUs are used with something other than the 9-series chipsets. Some other chipsets will work, depending on OEM support, but it is not the "complete" platform.

Sounds like it needs to be RMA'd, since the sound has changed since you bought it. Test it when it comes back from RMA to make sure it's good to go, and then resell it.
