The US has been giving Canada the "reach around" for a while now; but I think we feel bad about it, like we're the one's getting shafted.

btarunr as far as Islam do the religious leaders actively inform the people of things to keep them from joining such terrorist organizations or are the fundamentalists almost like gangs, keeping people and information in check threw fear?

Canada dislikes South America, so why would they even bother. What kind of a #$%^ed up topic is that for a thread like this.

Speaking about yourself in the plural is kinda creepy.

But thats the gist of almost every religion right there when it gets down to it.

talking about oneself in the plural or 3rd person is usually a sign of mental instability, or charateristic traits of some forms of social disorders

There's a very thin line between a 'religious leader' and a fundamentalist cleric. Geo-politics is at play. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are oil-rich nations with extremely strong economies, but Afghanistan (and now Iraq) isn't...there's too much poverty, oppression, public sentiment against the superpowers...so the conditions are favourable for breeding terror.

Again, when you have a 50 ton bob falling on you and you run out of ideas, you rely on someone else to do the thinking. So, the terrorists outsource their conscience to the clerics.

i am speaking for the christian church, because we will not coexist with false gods and there prophets. those who stand agaisnt god will die and burn in hell, it is written. If you worship anyone but the god of the Jews, the father of christ you will be cast into hell for all eternity. And i really dont care if you like it or not, argue it with the one true god, see if he takes pity on your foolishness. The only mistake we ever made as a church was letting athism spead

This is not meant to be a personal attack, but if you view it that way, then that's your bad.... Here goes...

Keep in mind that Islam worships the Jewish/Christian God, and that the other popular 'religions' are more like lifestyles... e.g. Budism.

I personally would LIKE to believe in God, but the Christians are so hypocritical... They will eat pork and shell fish (which the OT forbids) and say it's okay because times have changed and the Jesus' blood washed away those sins... Yet they will still go out of their way to preach hate about homosexuals, Jews, Muslims, ect. while sighting the OT as their justification of doing so... So if you are gonna use the OT to hate people and kill them, then you better follow it as a whole, not just the parts that justify your personal bigotry. Did Christ not preach love? Did he not speak to people from all walks of life?
Believe it or not, I was an alterboy in the Episcopalian church 11 years ago. (No, I was not molested by clergy, lol!) I even intended to become a missionary and eventually a priest, and perhaps a bishop, but the sheer hatred and hypocrisy of the conservative Christians changed my mind completely. I believe we should all accept each other within reason and just live and let live. Religion has killed FAR too many people already; Look at history... :(
