Well I got my 4870 today, put my cooler on. Have everything on and tight. When I boot up, the post shows. Does a single beep then my monitor goes blank after post and the rest of the computer is booting but the video card doesn't appear to be sending anything out. I hadn't uninstalled my previous drivers which is what I'm doing now. But when it does show post, it shows the screens with a couple yellow dots flickering around the screen. Any Ideas?

Put the stock cooler back on and try again. Most likely something is very much overheating.

The Entire card is cool, all heatsinks and also the pcb and directly behind the core is a little warm. But that's it.

Edit: Other cooler on, trying it now.
Edit Again, card did same thing with stock cooler on. Though this time it beeped at me 1 long two short, graphics card error.

My 8800gs works great. The power supply can handle the card no problem, had a friends 4870 in here before I decided to get one for myself.
