Hey people, got a question. What websites are there that have IT job postings? I recently finished getting my BIT focusing on network administration, and I'm now looking for work. I have no professional experience, so I'm looking for a tier 1 position in the Hampton Roads VA area(both my parents are still alive and in their 70'ties, so I'd really prefer to stay close for now). So do you people have any suggestions as to where I should look?

Is there like a US version of Reed? They're one of the UK's largest recruitment companies.

You can setup your profile with your education and interests on LinkedIn as professional recruiters look there for candidates and post positions as well. Indeed.com, careerbuilder.com, and simplyhired.com are also reputable sites. You may also refer to the school you attained your BIT with to see if it has a career section.

Agreed with what has been said above - check out indeed, linkedin, monster, careerbuilder, etc etc

I'd also suggest looking at IT positions that are just outside of the networking area. Don't just limit your self network related jobs. Look for other starting opportunities too.

In my experience, alot of times companies are looking for entry level positions to have some experience (at least a few years). Try getting your foot in the door somewhere by starting in another area (desktop support, help desk, etc). From there, develop the experience and knowledge of the company, and look to advance after putting in a year or 2 of hard work.

In my organization (I work in healthcare, we have over 20000 employees, so we have a fairly large IT dept), alot of our networking guys started on the help desk, or over on desktop support, and worked their way up from there.

Try and stay away from IBM if you can. They are going through massive layoffs right now.
