Is there any chance that a limit can be imposed on the size of uploaded pictures?
I enjoy looking at them as much as the next guy but a lot of them are huge and take a while to load and slow my system down, not every one has fast and unlimited internet.

As I understand it there is no limit with TPU capture, some would argue that it kind of defeats the object if one was imposed although I agree with your comments, there is a limit imposed on a straight file upload which I actually tend to use the most because I don't like scrolling for 5 minutes through a project build thread because there are 30 huge pictures uploaded.

I understand your concern but it's nearly impossible to reliably enforce size limits on images in threads. the only way would be to completely disallow embedding external images and forcing users to upload all as attachments with size enforced by the forum software

Would it be possible to mod the forum software so that it didn't display the linked pictures over a certain size unless a button is clicked against the post? It would show a placeholder instead. The limit could be user settable in the control panel too.

Maybe just a user setting in Preferences that when enabled it will replace all the images in the ads with links?

So img tags are replaced with url tags based on the setting.
