    Hey guys,

I went down to Chew* lab on Saturday for a little LN2 fun. Unfortunately his local LN2 dealer really dropped the ball and forgot to fill the 30l for us. Oh well, we went down the road and grabbed some dice instead and figured we'd take a less serious approach toward the days events.

    Here are the specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition (Retail – Boxed)

    Gigabyte UD5P 790FX

    2×2GB Corsair Dominator GT 1866MHz

    ATI Radeon HD4890 1GB

    PCP&C 860w (Mobo) + 1200w (everything else) – wicked overkill

Temps were excellent throughout the entire session, thanks to a great pot and a great mount. We maintained temps of around 72-71c the entire time.

    Here was my best result:

That was the result of some fantastic memory tuning on Chew's part (1800MHz+ at sick timings), and some old fashioned persistence on mine, something that I am never short of when dealing with other people's hardware. :p:

The OS was a tweaked Win 7, so we may have been able to get the times slightly lower with a tweaked XP. Software tweaks were fairly simple anyhow though, just trimmed down the processes and ran pi on core 1 in real time.

In either case it was a lot of fun. I wrote a quick blog about it at TechREACTION, which has more pictures and more details about what went on the other day, so feel free to check it out.

CyberDruid and Chicken Patty say thanks.

So what do dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) and LN2 (liquid nitrogen) have to do with each other? Maybe I need to stop paying attention to details. :)
