planning to upgrade my old GTX 470 (Galaxy GTX 470 GC) to a gtx 970 (GALAX GTX 970 HOF) SLi but not sure if my 700w psu (Corsair GS700)can handle it. Cpu is an i7 4790K(Not oc'ed btw) thx.

Yes, sir, it's fine. I have tried an i7-4790K stock with two 970 and maximum power usage (with Corsair Link) was not over 500W.

well the answer has been given, i will just add that i use a i5-4690K with a R9 290 (both OC) on a 650w no issues whatsoever i actually use a 750w just in case i plan a CFX later but even like that i will be slightly above normal requirement (tested with a friend who has the same configuration as i do but with a i7-4770K and the supplemental 290 i lack :roll:

), as the 970 is waaaaaaaayyyyyyy more power efficient than a 290, indeed 700w is more than enough (even for a SLI as @Valeriant notified)
