Hi just i just notes this my friend says it wont hurt anything but i was curious as i had all this stuff put in this case, and was unaware of it like this, i dont seem to my knowledge have any issues, but is there any way to fix it? here are some pics of it this is a old alienware motherboard but it all works really well. if there is a way to fix this let me know, i wish they made graphics cards without that stupid overhang.

Thanks was hoping that was the case :) why do they make these cards with that dumb overhang to bad you cant cut it off lol Just notes my date is off on my camera .

So do you think i could nudge it out of the way or would it break it just curious.

Please he was right it wont hurt it do not attempt to move the capacitor. No one will feel bad when it breaks. Its a solid state cap they do not bend like their brothers.

OK :) thanks i was just worried about it not sitting all they way in but its working so it must be all the gold pins are in i guess that's what counts.

hey was curious and not going to do it but wanted to know if there was a way of modding the graphics card to actually not hit that cap? like i said just a question.

actually i just seen this on amazon anyone no if they work ok ?? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KZHDYP6/?tag=tec06d-20 this might just get me a way from that cap.

if you plan to use it for long term (i mean you wont sell it after) i prefer cut it a little just to make it sits right

if nothing's wrong, then nothing's wrong... nothing need to be fixed since nothing is to be fixed ... bumping doesn't mean ripping off the caps and it's clearly not putting any pressure on the cap.

also PciEx Riser are not a good idea.

OK yeah when i had it out yesterday i watched the board for any flex as i put it back in and i did not see anything flex so i don't think its putting pressure on it but it might be after its screwed down but to be honest i really cant tell.

to be honest i really cant tell.
to be seriously honest we can tell: no harm at all even screwed down, stop worrying for nothing, example your 2nd thread about another issue (stripped screw) who isn't and issue at all.

also for the cap, i highly doubt Alienware(Dell) didn't notice the thumb (the piece of pcb who is here to prevent the card to be put in anything than a PciE slot) of a X16 card (or any other) would press too much on a cap, it's made like this so you can mostly and safely assume it was designed like that and no harm will or would be done (unless you try to fiddle with it and cut something you shouldn't)

OH i would not ever cut anything sir that's a no no , the original card that went in this had no tabs at all and was PCI E riser card but was side ways as this use to be in a different case before its power board it had died and dell wanted way more for it then the pc was worth so i moved the mainboard to another system, but they had a one piece riser card that came up and went sideways as the case was a flat pc small form factor.

oh i see, a SFF box well it was meant to be used with a riser so but i can hardly see any harm by leaving it like that
