K i have been looking into headsets lately cuz well i can,
Im thinking of either buying the Razer Megalodan or the Logitech G35

currently i have the Creative Fatality that with my soundcard become 5.1 in some games that Creative Alchemy supports. I do have the creative titanium pro soundcard, and i know that using USB headphones ignroes the soundcard and i dont mind that ill just remove the soundcard and keep it if i ever need it.

I can get both of them for 100 new, the razer headset from Razer, and logitech from ncix.com after pricematching it.

From the reviews ive seen the G35 is better than the Megalodan, in almost everything.
And logitech has awesome support so i was thinking go g35 because of that also.

These headphones will be used for Gaming and Music.

I will probably be purchasing these in about 2 weeks since i have to setup a paypal account and setup a bank account and transfer some money onto it and all that bullshit. What do you guys think is the better purchase.

Nice, ya my parents will hate my headphones even more because of actual noise cancelling part of it lol. instead of my fatalitys the only reason i cant hear them is because my game is to loud.

I've been through lots of cheaper headsets over the years, and I finally said to myself that I was going to get one that wasn't going to break. I got a Sennheiser PC350 and I absolutely love it. Definitely warrants some shopping around, but definitely worth a look, too.

I take care of mine, too, believe me. I just don't like going 2 weeks without being able to talk online since I have to send the old ones in.

They're $119 here... Didn't I tell you to shop around? I knew you were going to see retail and freak, but this is right in your price range it seems.
    epicfail says thanks.

G35 gets uncomfortably tight for people with glasses.

Stay the F away from the Razer Megalodan's!

i love Razer products but their headphones are crap.

these just arrived on my doorstep http://www.psykoaudio.com/ found them at CES 2009 and fell in love with them...only worth while non simulated surround sound gaming headphones i've actually wanted for myself.

they were expensive and they make War Tapes on Bad Co 2 sound F ' I N G amazing!

how high does it for speakers settings though like the reason i was gonna go g35 was 7.1
but is these headphones just like my fatalitys and i have to use alchemy to get them up to 5.1 because if thats the case i dont see the point in getting those just now cuz my fatalitys still run perfectly and sound decent.

These are simply stereo headphones. I have tried "surround headphones." My opinion: worthless. I can pinpoint gunfire/footsteps better with a great set of stereo cans than any surround headset. I think it's a gimmick. I actually just stepped down from 5.1 speakers to 2.1 speakers for a couple of reasons. To save space, to make moving easier (I'm in college so I do this a lot), and because for me at least, I could play games better with my headphones than with the 5.1s properly set up.

They are 7.1 as long as you don't turn on the sound improvement thing on them. I've got a pair of 5.1 and they work in 5.1 if I don't turn on the mini sound card on them.

Agreed computertechy. Well, except for music. For that, I use my Sennheiser HD280 Pros.

Why do you want to scrap your well performing sound card in favor for an obviously worse sounding USB based solution? The USB sound cards sound like worse than every modern on board solution I have heard. You should really consider getting a decent set of headphones and a clip-on microphone instead. Check out the headset thread in General Hardware.
