They've HAD to do that due to all the bad press and customer dissatisfaction. Kia are turning into a decent brand now and a warranty that long on a motor vehicle is to be commended NOT questioned as far as I'm concerned. In the motoring industry where people need to get their cars serviced regularly and often treat them like shit this is a sign of faith in the product they're selling :respect:

Her car was DESIGNED to crumple, as it's designed around driver/ passenger safety whereas his pickup was meant to be a big beast that'd withstand being hit by something large/ driving into a tree etc. That doesn't mean your grandad would've lived if he'd hit the same vehicle headon!

Do ALL the people driving turbo'd engines know that they need to warm the turbo down after it gets a good thrashing? I think not and hence they hurt them and didn't deserve them in the 1st place! :slap:

Yeah but most folks have no idea what they are are what they do, they just thrash their turbos and turn the ignition off when they pull into their drive!

Olds with a 3.1 @ 200K plus 10K between oil changes with synthetic.
Celica with 127K leaks oil, not burns. Tuned a bit.

Theses engines have one thing in common. They were both a collaboration of Japanese-American engineering. The engine itself will almost never wear out due to regular use, it is always a unintended outside damages that cause the failure.

I have the same problem that Wille do, too much slip shifting and beating all the "american" muscle. The Caddy dealership has one of the new cars and has tuned it for fun, and I can't beat it, but I bet that I get better mileage. And a friend has a Duramax that has been tuned that I cant outrun.

Two people I know went and bought cars cause they saw how hard I was on mine and they never break down.

I dont' really burn much oil either, maybe a pint a year! I've ONLY used Castrol GTX Magnatec since I discovered it about 3 years ago, runs nicely on it :D

On the note of tuning/turbos. I wish I knew how to modify/tune cars and such. My cousin came up yesterday from his house down the coast and told us how his car is modified totally from parts bought cheap from the internet. His brother bought a skyline gtr recently and took it out for a 270km/h drive down the freeway....thats just insane

long story short with KIA in Toledo. My ladies tranny finally gave out on her minivan. We went to Kia to look, sat did some dealing and ,almost bought until......

They told her no deal without insurance papers. So I left to get them and they tried to slam her into a shit deal while I was gone. Car was to be in her name but I was doing the talking. They had first shown us a damaged car, then while I was gone wrote up a deal. Tried everything to get her to sign. Hadn't even shown us a good car yet!

So I get back and here is the final deal. The finance guy says your credit union says no and we want 10% intrest. I told this guy to take a flying leap, as we were pre approved with said C.U. To top it off this guy says well if you'd like to sit I will explain......

I had it andf told them to get stuffed and stormed out of the store....Making sure I told everyone in the showroom what sheisty a$$es they were in contact with.

Moral of the story .....Even with a 20 year warranty, the only thing their cars are good for to me is to explode em in their showroom!!!!!!!!

    My answer for car salesmen.

Go find the nicest car you can barely afford, test drive it to the lot with the car you really want and park it front and center on their lot with all the competitor tags on it in plain site.

I did it. They freak out, and then when they compare the "uber" car you are driving to their vanilla car they have to coem up with ways to make it better, and cheap is better. They took $5,000 off my olds and I bought it for a couple hundred more than they paid for it. The salesman quit and I ran into him at the mall a few months later. He was still shocked that I would do that. It has also worked for a friend.
