Kinc and Crotale, two world-renowned overclockers, decided to put their names to the test recently. They took all their ultra-awesome overclocking equipment, set up camp at Dreamhack 2007, and promised a raging crowd of fans a world record. They lived up to both their names and promise by completely decimating the previous world record. Kinc and Crotale scored 29,325 points in 3DMark06 live at Dreamhack 2007 with the following system:

It's also pretty interesting that they're not using 3870's.

Synthetic benchie FTL. Not impressed. Now, show me Crysis running maxed out at a decent framerate, then you have ownage (which it might be able to do). Until then, they're still masturbating in a basement tonight.

umm I wouldn't call 200pts decimating the record, kinpin held it at 29061 and i doubt he'll be 2nd for that long either considering he's already gotten the cpu much higher and just needs to get his 2900's to catch up. lol

I agree, true benchmarks are measured using Super Pi, Prime 95 or the Orthos program, then very demanding apps, Games are Graphics intensive not CPU intensive. Also Crysis was overhyped, thats why it sucks ass, your better off Playing the Classic Deus Ex for a better game.

LOL, I just get fed up with this 3DMark crap. I think it's incredible that they can O/C this stuff this well, and I have respect. But, when everyone does this "Look! I beat the 3Dmark record again wooooo!", it just kind of irks me. Now, when you start doing real benchies (like eidairaman1 said) and/or breaking those records, then, I'll have some kudos to hand out.
I just don't get this whole synthetic benchmark jerk-off-a-thon. It means relatively little.....it's SYNTHETIC!

edit: BTW, I love your name, Spankenstein haha

exactly. so many people overlook this. 1 gig of 512 bit memory = lots of bandwidth and headroom!

2900XT FTW!!!!! WOOT!!! Glad 2900 is still the card to beat! 3870 is not as good as 2900. We'll see what happens when 3900 is released.
