Hey guys I am looking to spend $1000 MAX on a laptop for college. I have a beast of a machine at home for gaming so I am looking for something thats portable, fast and durable.
Currently I am looking at

ASUS U30JC-A1 NoteBook Intel Core i3 350M(2.26GHz)...

But before i sink a grand on a laptop I want to make sure i'm not missing anything. So my question is that the best I can get of a combo of battery life and power or is there something better?

Seems pretty spendy for a 13" screen. I know you want portablity, but there are similar speced machines in both 17.3", and even 18.4", for about the same price. Just my two cents.

If gaming is also important get at minimum something with a Mobility Radeon HD 5650. If battery is important try getting one with a Core i5 instead of the i7. If portability is important there's 15.6"-16.4" out there with more or less same specs as 17.3"-18.4".
