How do I start the system recovery on a Gateway NEW90 laptop? I want to reboot it to factory settings. Thanks.

when you turn your laptop on press F2 or F10 one of those should take you to a system restore

EDIT: it may also be F8 or the delete key. i just did this a couple day ago to a dell and i know its one of those.

EDIT2: Here you go press the Alt and F10
How can I restore my computer with the backup discs I created?

With user created backups you are able to restore your computer to the factory default settings. If backup discs were created instead of factory restore discs, these can be used instead and will restore the system to a user backup point.

Ensure that the computer is completely shutdown, then turn on the computer.
When the Gateway splash screen appears, tap the Alt and F10 keys simultaneously. A screen stating "Starting Gateway eRecovery" should appear.
From the recovery options, choose Restore system from CD/DVD.
Insert either the first Recovery or Backup disc that you created.
From the on-screen options, choose a backup.
Click OK and the installation will begin.
Change the disc as necessary when prompted.

I tried all of those except delete. None worked. I searched the drive for a recovery program and found it. Thanks for your help though.

looks like it relies on discs that were shipped with the pc, or a set you made when you got it all set up. if you don't have the discs you may be able to call gateway and order them. should be fairly cheap. if anything i think they just charge for shipping.

that is if that recovery program you found doesn't work.
