Who writes programs like Antivirus 2010 and alike? Can't they be tracked? For a malware coder to be around for over 10 years, I find it hard to believe no one knows WHO coded it or where it came from.

Lets gather with torches and pitchforks! :rockout:

Interesting if you wiki "antivirus 2010" you'll find this.

"On December 2, 2008 the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland issued a temporary restraining order against Innovative Marketing, Inc. and ByteHosting Internet Services, LLC after receiving a request from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). According to the FTC, the combined malware of WinFixer, WinAntivirus, DriveCleaner, ErrorSafe, and XP Antivirus has fooled over one million people into purchasing the software marketed as security products."

If you click the link to Innovative Marketing you'll see that Wiki user Anthony Appleyard deleted the entry in Wiki.

Also Zedo (another malware) also had a move request by Anthony Appleyard. Who the hell is Anthony Appleyard? Why is he so involved with Malware information on Wiki? Is he trying to hide the facts? Get the rope and chloroform. Lets go find out.

looks like he's a wiki administrator, which means there was probably some vulgar/offensive remarks and he removed most of the stuff.

His email was in a google link when i searched his name. The wiki page and this link both mention scuba diving so it must be him! Here's what turned up as the actual search result:

    Anthony Appleyard's homepage
    Email address: a.appleyard % btmiaowinternet.wuffcom (remove `miaow' and `wuff' and spaces and replace % by at-sign to remove spam-block) ...
    http://www.buckrogers.demon.co.uk/ - 4k - Cached - Similar pages

You can just email him nicely and ask him why it was removed for some answers if you want. I don't know what your ideas are for the actual malware people, but I always liked the flaming bag of dog shit on their front porch and ringing their doorbell prank!

EDIT: OR just target their computers with viruses and they can see how good their products are then!! Good luck on this hunt though
