Alright i got a friend wants a new gaming pc. needless to say there father knows how to build a pc but dosent know current hardware and wont willingly ask for advice or accept my own input so heres the deal i need some other builds and ideas for him to look over so he can compare. anyway heres the run down.

    $1000 MAX budget

Operating system is included as in we dont need one got vista 64bit ultimate already so no need to worry about the OS

1920x1200 monitor would be nice but can be tossed aside in favor of more gpu power there current montior is a 19 inch 1680x1050

Prefers AMD but Intel is an option

    must be quad core

overclocking is NOT an option no matter how much of an improvement it makes the man just wont budge period

i was looking at 945 or 925 with 4gigs ddr3 on a 785g with a 5770 or 5830 but the man wants his cake and to eat it to so fellow TPU'ers lets see what you have so i can convince him its time to toss those old s939 rigs

games the rig needs to run

GTA IV Metro 2033 Crysis Dragon Age Origins Fallout 3 Bad Company 2 Dirt 2 etc at 1680x1050 there current rig is a s939 x2 4400+ with an 8600gts

    i5 750 Processor.
    Cheapest compatible motherboard possible
run of the mill 1600mhz ram
    and a 5850/5870

Gaming rig = money should go to the video card.
    Solaris17 says thanks.

keep it coming guys my ideas were about the same but the more ppl we have pitching in the more likely hes gonna listen to reason and not man pride which will end badly i already had to keep him from buying a Phenom 9600 rig so keep the ideas flowing combo deals also appreciated considering the savings
