So, as the title suggests, I got this SD card as a gift today and I went to plug it into my Gopro Hero. (The $129.00 Gopro). It should be compatible- it's a class 10, but when I popped it in and hit "format sd card" in the Gopro, all it did was sit at the formatting icon, and the red led glowed. I left it there for at least 10 mins, and nothing happened other than the sd card getting so hot it feels like it's going to melt through your hand.
So, I plug 'er into the sd card reader it came with, and stick it into my laptop. (Windows 7)
I open My Computer, but the SD card isn't there. Boom. Blue screen of death.
I restart the computer, go back into My Computer after taking out and reinserting the card, and once again, blue screen of death.
I tried quickly going into the disk management program via admin controls, but I couldn't find the sd card on there either.
Frusturated, I plugged the card into my Chromebook, and it doesn't even sense it- much like my windows computer.
All it does is heat up unbearably hot.

So... my question is:
Has anyone encountered any problems like this or have a fix?
Or will I have to drop the cash on a new card?

Thanks guys.
