Lg L226wtq (or cheapest decent 1920*1200 screen)

I'm planning on buying a LG L226WTQ, since it seems reasonable, for a 22" LCD monitor.

Has anyone either got one of these or know of any problems with it? Is it robust, good quality, good picture, etc?

Aside:
Something that bugs me with LCD monitors these days is the woefully low resolution for their size, my laptop LCD screen back in 2003 was a 15.1" with a 1450*1050 resolution, and now all 22" LCDs are 1680*1050, that's not much progress :wtf:

there been some major strides, but not seen as much.
a
{1050(1400)/15.1} ≈ 97351
b
{1050(1680)/22} ≈ 80182

a/b= 97351:80182 ≈ 9.74:8.02

A pretty major step backwards, that's for sure!

I dont usually recommend any 22" bc they use TN panels and are inferior to other sizes. That an the pixel stretch rate doesnt help it too much.
A 20.1" looks much nicer or you could get a 24" which looks good too.
I can imagine (the stretching). Do you know of any affordable 1920*1200 screens? Size doesn't matter to me really, it's not as if I have that large a field of view. Just resolution, and colour.

That 22" screen I can get for £200, but LG's 24" screen (1920*1200) costs £500, which would kind of break the bank ;)

24" screens have not dropped that low yet (not like the 20").
Another year and they should be down a bit more.

The reason for that is bc more companies are now entering the 30" market (whereas last year there were only 3 companies).
Just like this and last year more companies started making 22", 24" and 20.1".
Prices will drop more and more with more competition.

So there aren't any 20-22 inch screens with a 1920*1200 resolution? That's a bit disappointing .. (I know you didn't say that definitively, but that's the impression I got).
