As the title states, this is a Linksys WRT54GS V.5 with "speedBooster" 4 port router. Almost brand new, in retail box. These routers support Micro DD-WRT. Great G routers:rockout:

The only reason that I am parting with this, is I purchased a Linksys N router a couple of weeks ago.

This router doesn't support tomato, only DD-WRT Micro.

I wish tomato would release a version that worked with the 4MB routers.

Versions 4 and earlier supported Tomato and the full version of DD-WRT, 5 and later only support DD-WRT Micro, which is still miles better than the stock VX-Works firmware and still very feature rich.
    AsRock and stinger608 say thanks.

I upgraded and gave my GS to a friend after putting micro dd-wrt on it, works pretty well. Not sure what's micro about it, had an insane amount of features.

Thanks Newtekie! After doing a little research, your correct sir! None the less, the DD-WRT "Micro" is an awesome networking program:rockout:

+1 Derf! the DD-WRT "Micro" does have an "insane amount of features."

    Thanks guys:rockout::rockout::rockout::respect:

Definitely, don't get me wrong here, DD-WRT Micro still has a huge amount of features, and most importantly is extremely stable.

Oh no Newtekie, I wasn't saying that it doesn't have features, in fact just the opposite to be honest. I can't figure out why they call it "micro." LOLOL

Oh, I know you weren't, I just didn't want other people to take my comments the wrong way and think I was bashing the router or trying to put a negative on it. That is why I clearified that DD-WRT Micro is still extremely feature rich and stable.

My comments were intended to simply clearify and prevent confusion, but after re-reading them, I realized they might sound negative towards the router to people that aren't aware of DD-WRT Micro's features and that wasn't what I was intending.:toast:

Got ya man! At any rate, I really, really appreciate the help clearing up what will, and will not work on the router.

Actually after checking DD-WRT's site, it shows that it is fully supported!!!

    Here is the link.

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database

Just type in the router (wrt54gs v 5.0)

Correct me if I am wrong Newtekie :)

When you actually click on the v5, it only gives you the option for the Micro firmware because of the 2mb flash.

If you click on one of the earlier version, it gives you a lot more firmware options because of the 4mb flash.

DD-WRT is great firmware. I run three routers with it, one 320N as the main router and a 54GSv1 and 54Gv4 as range extenders. The uptime is great, I can have them up for a month plus without any issues. The DD-WRT features are great too. The daily bandwidth monior is a cool feature and there's plenty of others. I use the mini builds for all three routers and they have everything you could possibly want with a slew of great features. Definitely a great router to run DD-WRT on!

Just throwing this out there, you may want to edit your OP. It still says Tomato and Doesn't specify 'Micro' for DD-WRT firmware support. :toast:
