The name of the game your cousin is talking about is undoubtabley Gradius, which was a NES game, and also could be played at the arcade as a stand up, which also included Track & Field, Rushin' Attack, the original Mario Bros, and a few other classics. The orbs would indeed absorb shots, and would eventually follow your ship like a snake and shoot as well. Good luck in your hunt.

Okay so Gradius and 1941, aaaand the remake/ripoffs of those 2. Gotta show the old guy tomorrow, THANKS A LOT GUYS!!

We don't play consoles anymore, he and I share a common interest in building PCs and obviously we love to game on them, whether it be old arcade flash games or modern games like GTAIV/NFS, as long as it works on a PC then we play it.

Mmm... I do remember one of the WWII types having white circles that would orbit your plane and absorb bullets. I seem to remember it being of the NES or SEGA era. I had both systems so it could be either one.

EDIT: Woops, that's not the game I'm thinking of. I loved Mach 2, a lesser known attack fighter game. So bitchin'.

Man, I spent a lot of quarters on that one. Had a great joystick, and I remember when you finished flying through the canyon on the first level you would pop up out of the clouds and all of these mean gunships would be waiting for you. Great visuals for those days.

I'm looking for a game that sort of takes place on an airplane, it's an FPS but not exactly an FPS because it's not from a first person point of view, rather than from an airplane. I can't really explain it well, but let's hope someone knows what I'm talking about. It doesn't have to be a new game with the latest graphics, just something that fits the description.
:toast:

Be a jet whore in BF2!!!

The very best arcade air-fighter I have ever played with a totally steep and never ending learning curve as well (although as a n00b, you will certainly have your work cut out for you against the ace BF2 pilots out there).

Air Combat I have heard good things about but have never played....

HAWX sucks real bad.

Raiden 1-3. Very much like 1941 but better graphics, music, and more intense.
