I have my first refund of my student loan coming to me in the next few weeks and I'm thinking I want to buy myself a laptop to use for school. I'm used to the speed of my desktop and would like a laptop that is atleast as quick as my desktop. I am currently enrolled to get my AABA in IT Networking. The laptop will be primarily used for school and possibly some gaming(my desktop will remain my primary computer for games). I'm looking to buy online from newegg or tigerdirect or any other reliable online store. So show me the best deal available to me. Budget is around $1000 usd.

my i7 quad can last for 4 hours browsing and surfing the net via wifi

if you need the power when needed, go for the quad.
