About 40c non OC and 46c OC ambient temp is 20c?
The tpu reviews temps of the vapor card
Strange, the Gigabyte 7950 windforce idle is 31 to 33 at 900 clock and 1250 RAM.
Now i am pretty much confused. Either i stay with gigabyte 7950 windforce or i get a sapphire HD7950 Vapor X
SAPPHIRE 100351SR Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB 384-bit
SAPPHIRE 100351SR Radeon HD 7950 Vapor X 3GB 384-bit
Gigabyte 7950 Windforce which the card is locked.
Yeah even if you're used to paying only half price for your games, that's still like getting a top end GPU for about $250. Those are good games too, couldn't pass it up. I went for the deal mostly for the card itself though.
get the 7970...
Look at the great load temps. The idle temps are probably more because sapphire decided to go for quietness at idle with the fan curve.
I would take out the windforce because it is locked... I do assume you want to overclock as much as you can.
So you got a 7970?
i can not belive that those 7950's dont oc good!! at least 1ghz should be relatively easy.
i hear saphire card oc very good, why not go that side!
Nvm, The SAPPHIRE 100351SR Radeon HD 7950 Vapor X 3GB 384-bit are now voltage locked, canceled my order. Looking for another card
Which Sapphire 7950 Card to get
which card should i go for?
1. SAPPHIRE 100352-2L Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit
Link: SAPPHIRE 100352-2L Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR...
2. Sapphire Radeon Vapor-X HD 7950 OC with Boost 3 GB DDR5
Any help would be great
If both cards are locked, I'd choose the vapor-x even though it's a little more pricey. At least it runs cooler and it is probably more quiet as well. I think the worst feeling is getting the inferior card and then regretting the purchase and thinking about "what could have been".
But as someone else said, the vapor-x is probably locked, so if the other sapphire card is not locked, I would choose that card. As a bonus it is also cheaper and looks like it comes out of the box slightly overclocked
Yep, this one when it was briefly available for $330 before being sold out.
It still shows the same price, but since the rebate only goes through Nov and they seem to be getting limited quantities, I'm doubtful it will be available at that price, at least not soon anyway. Maybe when the 8000s or 700s come out.
Just got another Black Friday ad emailed from Newegg showing this card in it, even though it's sold out, so maybe they will get some more in at that price.
I also just ordered this audio enabling DVI to HDMI adapter from eBay, in case there's any problems with the HDMI audio. It's the same thing as this and is originally made by ATI, not HIS.
