low 3d mark with two 4850,s and 9850 phenom

Hi all I just wanted to see what otrhers are getting with simular setup as me with 3dmark06 Ive got two 4850,s and 9850 phenom and m3a32-mvp deluxe mobo and 4 gig system ram on win xp 32...And all stock clocks I got only 13414 on my 3d score...This is low is ity not? The only real crazzy thing I noticed was I got a top FPS OF 187 which is over double of my 8800gt fps.I got just under 10000 with a 8800gt and amd athlon 64xdual core...Ok let me know thanks..steve

Double check crossfire is enabled in CCC. maybe check it against GPU-Z

Phenoms are known for clocking low in 06. And 06 being so CPU-dependent really kills scores for AMD rigs. Try going into your bios and pushing your CPU multi up one and run it again. You'll see your score soar.

just put the multi up one and change no other settings? I will do if thats all I need to do///And my 4850,s play like shit in my game et quake wars ..the graphics flash in and out on buildings and people and its really bad...this sucks damnnnn itttttt...is there any fix for this? i sure hope so or im gona halfto go back to nvidia after wasting all this cash on these two 4850 cards..what peices if crap these cards are...Steve

The cards are fine, there are many who have no problems. Did you properly uninstall all of your old Nvidia drivers? Do a reinstall of Windows? What video drivers are you using? Is the rest of your system overclocked and what are the settings? (Speeds, voltage, timings, etc.) Are you sure your PSU can handle your system? What model Antec is it?

I haven't really heard any bad things about these cards. could be a driver issue.

Overclock the CPU, i got a 800 3Dmark06 point increase from overclocking my X2 from 2.95 to 3.25, with a single 4850 at stock speeds.

I re installed windows when I put my new cards and 9850 phenom in,and updated my bios and everything for the cpu ..and I used the drivers that came with the 4850,s on the disc,and everything is stock no overclocking...antec 900 gamers case and the psu is a 650w antec...So whats going on pleeeease help,,,Steve

Deffinitely use the 8.6 hotfix drivers. You'll need to overclock your CPU quite a bit since 3dMark06 is very CPU dependant.

Hi yes ive installed the hotfix allready but it didnt hot fix anything...thnk for help guys..hope to fix this problem soon...Steve

FYI I had the same results at first with my 4850's CF & a Q6600 Stock I was in the 13k range in 3dmark06. Then I remembered I had just built the system and the cpu was stock and I needed to overclock it. I did a quick boost from 2.4ghz to 3.0ghz and my score massively jumped from 13k to 17k!

Goes to show how important a good cpu is, 3dmark06 is half cpu for the score in the first place, then secondly dual cards require more cpu power to run than a single one. Going all the way from 3ghz to now 3.6ghz and my score only went from 17k to just short of 19k. So there was most definitly a cpu bottleneck there with the stock speeds.

wow thats a hell of a jump..Im not to good with oc I always fuck shit up and need to reinstall winxp ...I will oc the cpu tho but I want to find out what to do in steps on my m3a32-mvp deluxe with the newest bios to date..i dont know if anyone has this mobo but its a bit confusing to me...Steve

I have the mobo, and it's still confusing to me! For now.. just up the multiplier till you get to 3ghz on that thing. Set the CPU voltage to 1.35v. See if it boots? Remember, your cpu can be overclocked separately from the rest of your system with it's unlock multi.

I think people can get the 9850's to run at 2.9 without touching voltages.

I'm going to see if Kei can chime in here, hes had plenty of experience with the phenoms.

ok thanks man will do that tomorrow.so i go into advanced oc seiings then put multi tilll i get 3ghz then jump up the mail cpu volt? for there is a few volt options to up in the cpu oc settings....steve
