Just got my Maximus IV Gene-Z up and running.

Now I have read a bit about this LucidLogix and was wondering if there is a point to running it?
I do not encode and I only game on this machine and some web surfing from time to time.

Whats the gerneral opinion on it? Gimmick or useful tool I should enable?

Doesn't Lucid Logic allow you to mix graphic vendors(AMD, Nvidia, and Intel) for added performance or say how your i7 has integrated graphics you could then use your integrated for 2d stuff and then it switches over to your dedicated graphics card for the intense 3d stuff.

It's useful since it can cut out power consumption, especially if your card still has relatively high idle wattage. LucidLogix allows you to use the IGP of your CPU while in idle/2D mode and with switch to discrete graphics in 3D mode.
