In case you weren't tired of obliterating your friends and family with spells of mass destruction (or just accidentally calling a meteor down upon your own electrified head), Pieces Interactive (Leviathan - Warships) are developing a new Magicka game for the fans of the first hit game. Published by none other than Paradox Interactive (Magicka, Europa Universalis, Cities Skylines), Magicka 2 [Official Site] will feature similar gameplay to the first, allowing up to four players to embark upon an adventure of chaos with Vlad (he's definitely not a vampire, and STILL won't die) across the land of Midgard.
Much is still the same, although judging by some of the screenshots, we're in for a slightly prettier experience, with even more staves and swords, and whatever other creations might fall before you. The storyline takes place after Wizard Wars, in a world where there are almost no wizards left, and the few that are still around are largely mad and hostile. That being said, every player I ever played with was usually mad and extremely hostile. Magicka's original release was somewhat buggy, and altogether clunky, yet it's clunkiness presented a mild charm that drew players in for the sheer ability to murder just about everything in sight despite its importance. Hopefully this time around we'll see a more polished release, and more importantly, and equally entertaining title. Release is due any time during 2015, only this time it will share an engine with Wizard Wars (Bitsquid engine).
No word on the presence of Gram.
