Make the club section count towards forum posts

then if their also for socializing why would they count tword the post count on a tech forum? As it stands the only posts that count are the ones done in the tech sections. the ones that are not supposed to go off topic. So why would you make them count in a section that can go either way? Doesnt matter if their OT or off in this section it isnt worth the risk. and is kinda pointless. If we were than whats to stop taking the lock of the GN archives when half the posts in the club section are just the same?

Here is my take overall.

Can the posts count ? Honestly sure, why not.
But with that comes the policing of the section, and constant babysitting for us to keep them on topic.

Now which would you rather? a free place to chill and talk about scratching whatever is closest, or having us on your back for thinking about what you want to scratch?

Not really on topic, but one thing I can't stand personally are people posting other people's news articles from other websites to garner "thanks." People asking for "thanks" like it's a game. It's lame and doesn't work. I don't thank people for copying and pasting other peoples work. I can just go read these things on those websites.

Post count is meh. I have quite a few posts and I'm pretty sure I only know what I'm talking about about a quarter of the time.

Post count is totally worthless IMO. I do not pay attention to it. The thanks button is dumb as well. I pay attention to the member, and their join date, and if I have seen them / talked to them before. You kinda get to know the reliable people around here. Post count does not help with that.

Regarding if clubs should be added to post count, why the hell not?

but its some what discriminatory against those who have just joined who really know what their talking about. but havent had the chance to fully establish themselves within the TPU community. dont forget there are many other tech sites out there similar to TPU

The way I see it - it could be to stop everybody being able to achieve the whole customisable title thing uber quickly - fair enough. up the requirements to 10k posts if you wish & like others have said, post count means nothing so why the hell not? theres no harm in it at all.

Back when everyone thought post count mattered, W1zzard himself gave himself 30,000 extra posts to his count so it would look like he was amazing. He has since removed them. My guess is he got called a post whore, decided it was dumb, as he got no more respect, and then that is when GN lost post counting.

The whole problem with Post count is that TPU Rewards you. If there were no custom titles there would be no worries (less) about post count. Take away the reward and you have less interest in post count. So give everyone a custom title...or base it off join date. Say 5 years!
