can i run it on my old pc (the p4 on system specs)

acording to the official system requirements it needs a 6800 series and i have a 6600gt. it will make that much difference?

i dont care run it a low res with low quality as im used to it on almost all games but i want to know if just it will run?

Minimum usually means minimum. You can try but don't surprised if it is virtually unplayable.

    i almost never trust minimum

EX: a friend played fallout 3 on a celeron 2.2 with 512mb of ram and a 6200 (normal not gt) and guess what, he finished it with almost all side quest complete. he played at all lowerst and was playable... barely so idk.

Im asking cause mass effect is 10gb installed and i only have 20 free on the p4 so i dont want to install it and see its imposible to play

I old friend finished Half Life 2 on a GMA900 (or 950). It was 14 / 15 fps avg and he finished it:laugh:

Every company does not list minimum the same. Bioware/EA Games, I don't know. Again, I think you'll just have to try it and make that call yourself.

It will be pretty bad. It was almost unplayable on my overclocked A64 3000+ with the x2600xt.

Fallout 3 was no problem though. ME isn't optimized very well methinks.

Mass Effect is based on Unreal 3 which is multithreaded. I imagine it will strugle on any single-core system. :(

well i tried and while it worked, as gt90 said, it was unplayable. Got between 5-15 frames on most scenarios.

Anyway it was a good try.

I'd play it on the other computer in your specs. You'd have to definitely upgrade your video card and most likely get at least a Pentium D to make it playable. Overclocking the processor won't gain much.

    what is clockgen?

i played and finished 12-14 times on the other pc (the core 2). the point is that the p4 is in my bedroom and the core 2 is in the living room and i wanted to play mass effect on my bedroom. Oh, and a p4 with ht wouldnt work?

it's is a small overclocking program, just use Google to find a comprehensive guide and use rivatuner for the videocard

oh yeah and HT p4 will help significantly but pentium D is better

Quick question: How were you able to do that? I've played it for like 5 hours and .. just no. I really don't see why I should play on. Why is it so good?

Are you kidding, right? Its the most fucking awesome game evar!!!. I think i played that many times to try the different combinations and results of taking some deccisions on a later time on the game, or doing the main missions on a different order. Also for making the perfect character (a biotic with assault rifle and for that you have to finish the game with a warrior with more than 100 kills with the assault rifle and then start a new character with only biotic powers and the assault rifle addon). Also im thinking now to make that but with a female and date liara. Biotic lesbian transpecies sex with rifle FTW !!! :rockout::roll:

This is so annoying! Everything I hear about this game sounds nice, but when I play it I get bored after just a few minutes. Meh. :(

I bet you get bored because you try to do all the side missions, which are generally lame and repetitive.
some of us don't mind that stuff.
but If you play it just for the missions it's great.
Theres DLC for it as well.

it could be playable as graphics card is only one of the factors. if your cpu is above the minimum, and you have a high performance hard drive and fast memory - you might be able to enjoy this game. The only problem if this game does not support your card at all - you won't be able to run it.

It's pretty boring driving around on the planet. Once you get inside to do some killing, it gets fun. I fell asleep driving around once. XD
