Hey guys...

I have been reading reviews and am torn between the following two boards:

Asus maximus II Formula P45
Asus Rampage formula ROG iX48

Ill be using my 8GB of Corsair dominator 1066mhz ram along with my Q6600 and my 4890
i may get another 4890 at a later point to crossfire (so the 8X8 link on the p45 should be fine in pci-e 2.0).

The bundle and clocking options look much better on the P45 board whereas the iX48 board seems rather cheap in comparison although it does have full 16X pic-e slots not that ill notice as they both pci-e 2.0

what do you guys reckon I should go for?

The Maximus is better for pretty much everything except 3+ GPU setups. I personally like the P45's over the X48's because I've clocked higher with them.

wow quick answer ;)

well to be honest i was expecting the iX48 to be better... but looking at the specs and reviews the P45 seems to be much nicer... looks better and seems to be higher quality (16 phase power etc...)
i think i may hold on for a few more minutes and then just bite the bullet and buy the sucker :D

aaah before i forget... can someone tell me if it supports 4X 2gb sticks of corsair dominator 1066mhz memory (8gb total)?

I looked at the QVL list and it diddnt mention them... but neither does my P5K-E and they work fine

M II F. Had one, was amazing, until a pin broke.

Better than my X38 (i think X48 is just X38 that'll do 1600FSB).

The maximus has millions of BIOS options. Get it.
