I just picked up a Maximus IV GENE-Z for my 3770K it booted the 1st time with no video and went through its debug codes, now when i turn it on it powers on the right off any ideas?


It has the latest bios so its no the bios being outdated for the CPU.

Sometimes removing the CMOS battery and reinstalling it will reset the firmware back to factory state.

boot for the first time and you have 3 monts warranty left?

looks like short circuit or from psu could be from the board itself, try to put the board off the case and test it back

The CPU is almost 3 years old the board i brought 2nd hand and was working fine when i tested it with a I3 i had some thing went wrong not sure the CPU is being sent off to get replaced.

but anyway its kinda nice you have warranty on it

i had mp4 player years ago and it die right a month after the warranty expired

Yeah that would suck lol i was very lucky i just hope its not the board thats killing the cpu lol
