Memory clock problem GeForce GT 520

Hello everyone!

2 days ago I bought a new grapics card the NVIDIA GeForce GT 520. The problem is that the card specifications on the official website of nVidia are not the same as what my system says (GPU-Z, AIDA64).

On the nVidia website you can see that the memory clock is 900 MHz and the Memory Bandwidth is 14.4GB/s. The interesting thing is both the GPU-Z and AIDA says that the card has 535MHz grapics memory freq. and 8.6GB/s of Memory Bandwidth..

My question is: How is this possible?

I've already tried: Updating drivers (all of the them), Updating BIOS, Reinstalling Windows, Checking other website for specs, Using other programs to check GPU clocks.

System specs:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR3
GPU: GeForce GT 520
MB: Gigabyte GA-G41MT-ES2L
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I am 150% sure that I have the nVidia GeForce GT 520 card and not something else..
I hope someone with better knowledge can help me out.

Any help will be very welcome.

The specs listed on nVidia's website are just the reference clocks. The actual manufacturer of the card can choose to use lower or higher spec memory. In this case it looks like Gainward, the manufacturer of your card, used 533MHz memory instead of 900MHz.

It clearly says the memory clock speed is 533MHz.

I did build this ring yes. I bouhgt the card from a local trusted PC shop.. Do you have any ideas?

looks OEM to me, probably gainward built. What do you use your machine for?

@newtekie1 Eh.. You are right.. So, I thought that I buy a GeForce gt 520 with 900MHz memory clock and I just bought a way slower card? :O This Iswhat you are tring to say right?

go with a 560TI at the least

well honestly... the card will be super slow or mega slow either... I wouldn't worry much... it might be a OEM, they may have poorer RAM IC's...

This thing does not run Crysis, forget it.

as a Minimum a 560TI, unless if you can get a 660/760

Even with the faster RAM that card wouldn't likely handle modern games.

I'd say get at least a 750 or 750Ti if you want to play modern games.

Even if you'd gotten a "good" one the GT 520 is a very old and slow card. Not for gaming. You can buy a card for <$100 that is ~10x as fast.
