i don't think that could happen, because it have different architecture(PPC vs X86).

Microsoft never really made a great game so I don't care. They should stick to their O/S and other applications.

There have been some quality games that came from MS (Age of Empires and MechWarrior ring a bell). I would like to see them startup another development program. The only issue I recall was with that flight game and that was do to them no longer supporting it. The thing is they didn't make that many games. But competition is always a good thing.

I think Freelancer has the potential to become a great MMO. They'd obviously have to update large portions of it but the premise is certainly there. Then again, a space MMO already exists called EVE. XD

That should be awesome. And yes, there is EVE but a Freelance MMO would differ alot from that. EVE is a pretty narrow game actually, cause of the learning curve.

I would just like to see a Freelancer 2 single player.
Not the hardest or most complex space sim, but it was easy to play, the controls were intuitive and people like me who suck at most games coupld actually win.

MS spent days at E3 promoting their X Box 360 stuff and the only thing they said for the PC is Fable 3 and that they're going to announce something about re-supporting the PC after E3? I guess the PC is not good enough for E3.
After a lot of game companies and their games got hacked away by MS, a lot of games that were coming to the PC but didn't - it's a bit too hard to trust it.
Some of the reasons that I can see that would motivate MS to rededicate itself to the PC :

- OnLive - a definite rival for MS's cloud computing services
- Ubisoft and EA's permenant online connection for games would justify the need/requirement for
cloud computing
- an increasing number of Windows 7 only games (e.g. Just Cause 2) - ok, it's a weak reason

Just to be clear : I just don't like the idea of cloud computing.

Me neither, or rather, I just don't like the idea of the amount of control conferred on the companies and the uses they might find for these newfound faculties: the extremist form of DRM to date? The idea of being that tied in to any company should probably be cause for concern to anybody who's merely a consumer, even if the usual counterpoints of fear-mongering and paranoia can be levelled against me.

It was supposed to be a trilogy:
Starlancer -> Freelancer -> ?lancer

But for some reason, the third got scrapped. I never understood why.
