I will be getting a big PC upgrade soon. I still have my old 21.5inch 1080p monitor, but it's a TN panel and rather ugly. I'd like a monitor with the specs of the above. Also, I may get another one later that could be a TN panel just for gaming, so give me suggestions on those too.

Budget (for 1 monitor): £275

Here are some I've found - Lots of Acer monitors in my price range, apparently:

Second time I've been recommended the BenQ monitor now and it looks very promising. I don't mind the price to be honest, as I have a cunning plan :D

BenQ's are exceedingly cheaply made monitors overall. Not really ideal for those looking for bleeding edge colour calibration out of the box, but then again, I calibrate every IPS monitor I buy myself anyway. Had a few BenQ's myself, no real complaints, but there are better panels out there.

I have that BenQ monitor, no real complaints here, except the DP cable delivered with it is shit (non-certified and the monitor doesn't come out of sleep because of it). You also need dual DVI cable (not included) for 1440p signal. I just use HDMI now.

Screen itself is really good though.

Thanks for the cable warning! Hmm. I might take a look at some slightly more expensive monitors from ASUS, Samsung, LG, AOC, etc soon. Generally, if the monitor is good, that's fine!

You could just get a Samsung 28" 4k monitor for the same price ?
I don't know how much the Samsung U28D590D is worth in England, but here in Australia they sell for $499.
$499au is less than £245.
Granted, you wont have the cheap speakers that come with some other monitors, but you can always spend the extra £30 and get speakers that will greatly out-do any speakers that come built-in with a monitor.

That's £320 at best here. Usually around 380-400. You can't just convert the currencies. Imagine the shipping cost from AU to UK! They'd be insane.

Sorry, I did not realize. I thought this monitor was manufactured in Taiwan or China and then shipped worldwide.

No different than the shipping cost from Taiwan or wherever to England.
No reason he can't just convert currencies, it's not like Australian prices don't include shipping also! :slap:
