Sometime back I was facing issue with my desktop of sudden Hard shutdown.
initially I thought it was cause of heating issue since my system use to give me 70 degree alert when I use t play GTA 5.

Then I changed my PSU to Antec VP550 v2 and also added Cooler Master Hyper 212x CPU cooler.

But still one of the issue still remains unsolved.

Many a times when I start my system, 4 beep sound from my Asus MOBO (as per manual 4 beeps means no VGA output) and the Display says no input signal.

the issue does not end here, Even if sometimes the system starts normally, all of a sudden the display says no signal even though the CPU is running and i can here the sound from the speakers of videos/mp3 if its running.
The only thing I can do now is Hard Shutdown and try starting again.

I have no idea whts wrong!! I tried changing the GPU witha friends GPU but still the same issue.

I am not sure if its the MOBO issue OR MOnitor Issue ..?

For your sake i hope more tech savvy people come and join the discussion since i am the Jon Snow of computers.

Playing GTA 5 on the same exact card i own. I tried it and it was impossible ? Apparently nothing is impossible. 21.5 inch monitor you have, i am guessing lowest res with lowest details ? Your cpu will offer you 5-10 more fps. I had an average of 18 fps and with all on low the game looked very extremely (unplayable) bad.
70 degrees celsius for that card is TO high! The most demanding game i decently run was Inquisition on 1080p all low with OC at maximum using catalyst control center it started at 55 hitting 67 max after about 2 hours of gameplay. Sure i have a Antec 90mm fan blowing at 3200 rpm directly in it(and making noise).

I'm just saying ,this card is not meant to play anything since 2014. No joke. Yet because we are poor we push it to extremes that it wasn't supposed to be pushed. So there you have it . Why look at the mobo when it think the gpu is dying on you.

So, perhaps a quick check of the minimum requirements is in order:
http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=1308&game=Grand Theft Auto V

They note that the minimum GPU is a 4870. You cite using a 5670, and it basically melting down.

Off hand, I'd bet that:
1) The 5670 didn't require any additional power connections.
2) The 6770 also doesn't require any additional power connections.

Why do I say this? The simple answer is that you've likely borked your motherboard by pulling far too much power through the PCI-e interface. The 5670 was never meant to run a game as taxing as GTA V. It likely pulled a huge amount of power, heated up, then began drawing even more power. That kind of extended draw could have damaged power regulation on the motherboard, damaged traces, or simply warped connectors such that they no longer make complete contact. This conclusion seems to be agree with your inconsistent booting, and having a replacement card show the same issues.

What I would recommend is:
1) Have the friend install the 5670, and determine if it is dead. If it works fine you've got a dead motherboard.
2) Check and see if the motherboard will allow you to install the card in the second PCI-e x16 slot. This is a very remote possibility, but it might allow you to at least boot.
3) Always check minimum specs in the future. Right now a 7770 can be had for less than the price of two games. There's no excuse to buy a new $60 game, that your computer can't run. If you wait until GTA V hits a good sale you could even have a new GPU and the game for less than the price of two new games.

As a side note, most monitors indicate no VGA output on boot up. The video card isn't the first thing initiated at boot. If the lack of a VGA output lasts longer than the splash screen you've got issues.

Reset CMOS and leave the BIOS stock, revert the graphics driver back to an earlier version (Omega or earlier) and remove the ASUS AI suite.
That usually fixes driver issues like this.

yesterday tried lots of permutation - combination..
first changed the HDMI cable.. .. but the same issue ..
tried by inserting the GPU (ATI 6670) in the secondary slot (x4) on my MOBO (ASUS M5A97 R2.0) .. but still the same issue ..

then I connected the VGA Cable to my monitor (DELL S2240L) along with the HDMI connected... and selectd the VGA signal input in the monitor....

to my surprise the display started after re-boot... but the screen colour more of REDDISH... then once ON, I changed the display setting to HDMI on the go..... it worked properly..

to try again ... i did .. shutdown -> changed display setting to HDMI ->restart -> no display ... :(
again .. I tried multiple times ... -> shutdown -> changed display settings to VGA -> Boot -> reddish display but working -> changed display settings to HDMI -> worked perfect...

not sure whts going on .. but this is the ways its working...

does anyone has any idea whts the issue here ...
pls help..

Check your CPU voltages and how hot your VRMs are running. That board is known for having defects that ASUS spits out anyway. Honestly it sounds like the same issues I was having before mine died.

Does your monitors settings allow you to select input?
Also in CCC it should show your monitor set up and settings..

I wouldn't be so hasty as to blame the Motherboard.
There are a lot of reported issues with blackscreen over HDMI.
Make sure the cable is connected and the monitor is on and set to HDMI input prior to switching on the computer.
Right click on a blank space of your desktop then select Resolution, this will bring up a screen that should show all monitors currently connected.
If the monitor doesn't show then there may be a connection issue.
Also make sure the drivers for the GPU and HDMI are up to date.

I dont think its the blank screen issue.. because.. when I start the system... it gives me a short beep indicating the CPU is ON..
then after almost 5 secs ... MOBO gives One continuous beep followed by 3 short beep.. which as per ASUS manual indicates "no VGA detected" ..

Also I have tried with alternate HDMI cable ... but no solution...
