Well, I was expecting my 160 to last a bit longer but... alas.. it died last night. Sooo.. smashed, PM me about the quantities remaining of..

Im not in a hurry when it comes to buying them since I still have 11TB of redundant of storage on my rackmount but my desktop needs dedicated storage also..

Won't buy until you are 100% caught up on shipping.

Got 2 WD 2TB drives from him. HD Tune Pro scan shows no error on both and they are still under warranty until late 2011. Did take him approximately 7 business days to ship it out as stated in his FS thread.

Last I heard from him was the 18th for my tracking, I pm'ed him again (you know why) and am awaiting on his reply. Remember you can't count weekends because that is his Family time.

just a heads up, there is no warranty on the 1.5tb seagate 5900rpm. I tried to check out my first 2 and it said they are oem and not under seagates warranty.

That's correct; it's because they came from external hard drives. However, smashed has said that if you need warranty service, talk to him and he will take care of it for you. He's a good guy to deal with and I have no doubt he'd take care of you if your drive has a problem. Might be worth asking him how long he'll warranty the drives he sells that don't come with a warranty from the manufacturer.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about Smashed either. He's gone out of his way for me to help me acquire an i7 after I purchased a drive from him and was having trouble finding any chips on the forum (they all showed up after the fact lol). Anyway, any guy that would offer to grab you a chip AND lap it when he's got a post up selling HDD's is a stand up guy in my book. I'm waiting on my tracking info and shipment at the moment, but I'm definitely not worried about it.

sorry my wife and I just got back from the hospital... she was in the hospital for several days

I am not sure where anything is right now... give me a day or to I will let you know...

all I can say is that life tends to throw curve balls at some people more than others...

I have not had computer access... for the most part... I tried using my wife's blackberry to send messages but the nurse got mad a said that it can interfere with hospital equipment...

however I am in full swing and will begin shipping first thing in the morning...

I just wanted to let some people know of smashed_99cbr trade practices. First thing i guess is that i should of known better. I thought the rules of this forum was seller needed his name next to said item...I did not see it and still went ahead with the transaction :banghead:

I said i needed 2x1 Seagate drives we had like 10 messages before i bought them,even paypal receipt said seagate drives. Seller receives money them takes over 2weeks to ship the wrong drives. He sent me 2x1 WD green drives.. if they both worked i would of let it go and lesson learned. He should need a pic with a date of said product before being able to sell!!! After testing the 2x1 WD green drives that went to external enclosure one failed and i tried to RMA through WD, but the drive goes to a enclosure and i only have internal drives. That automatically voids the warranty. I feel there was no way that this was a honest mistake i feel this was malicious and the community should know!!!!

Anyway i disputed with paypal and hopefully it all works out. :rockout:

This should have been kept to private messages, I take it you haven't bothered asking for a refund? Or even contacted him for that matter? If you had and he didn't do anything about it then I can understand where you're coming from. I recently dealt with a dispute with an item I sold with smashed being the middle man, he went out of his way to try and help us (being the buyer and I) resolve this issue even with life in the way.

wow dude, did you talk to smashed again before you filed dispute? its a common mistake. He had alot to ship out and errors can happen. He also said he will warranty the drives himself. Im sure he will swap drives for you so can have your seagates and not have to worry about any RMA.
