I have a music assignment, where I have to get tracks from two movies and then analyse each one.
The first track has to portray a character, like The Raider's March for Indiana Jones (which we can't do, because it was our example peice).
The second peice has to conjure up a time and place.

I'm thinking of doing the James Bond theme for the first one, but I'm stumped for the second one.
    Has anyone got any ideas?

OMFG STAR WARS! Depicts a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away. :rockout: You'd have to get more detailed than that, but HELL YEAH!

Wizard of Oz for the second one. Tons of songs that could depict a time and place.

Well, African music usually gives you a real "African" feeling. It puts you right there. So think of the lion king. Oh, and Baba Yetu tends to do that job as well, however I can't think of a movie that uses it. Google might help you there.

That is a great idea! I'll look into it: are there pieces in it that don't have lyrics? We're meant to be writing about the music only, and lyrics kinda mess with things...

@ wtf8269: Yeah, Star Wars is a good idea as well, but I think a few other people would be doing that as well.

I've been thinking about maybe the Jaws music for the first part: anyone know where to get the full score?

Why PM? I don't see how it can't be clear that movie music is copyrighted. Made specifically for the movie or not.

Yeah, no 'warez' things: it says you have to have registered at an "adult site" before it lets you do anything, and I'm only 15. I avoid those sites anyway...
I've downloaded a Youtube Downloader, so that should solve my problem!;)

What about Batman? Some badass orchestra type stuff there. Wonder if she'd accept music from the Medal of Honor series? Definitely some more badass orchestra type stuff there as well.

Oh I forgot about this but we played this song midway march in band this year. It's suppouse to be from the movie Midway, but I'm not sure if this is the theme song....sorry I just can't find it on youtube except for band arrangements, so maybe if you felt like figuring out if this is the theme song. It really does put you in the mood of a victorious battle. http://youtube.com/watch?v=6_m588hNPAs&feature=related....oh and that's a different arrangement than I played, seems to be a bunch of arrangements.

Edit: Just looked it up, turns out the song was played during the credits. Bah sorry for the double post.

Well, I've decided I'm doing the Jaws theme for the first part.
