I'm obsessed with the noise levels of my PC so I run my PC with a bare minimum of fans. That means I would like my boards to use/waste as little heat and eneregy as possible. from benchmarks, it looks like MSI and Intel motherboards are best at this. I have mostly used ASUS and Gigabyte boards in the past so I think I will need to know a bit more about MSI and Intel boards.
So what are the build quality like for Intel and MSI boards?
I've heard Intel boards have very little options in BIOS, but then I don't overclock, the main features I want in the BIOS is mainly fan control, so onboard PWM controller would be nice. manual control from 3-pin headers would also be really nice. Another thing I like in the Bios is being able to disable unused stuff like IDE controller, 3.5' diskette controller etc.
Will it be possible that I won't be able to find those bios features above in Intel or MSI boards?
oh and I will be looking at entry level boards only, I'm a minimalist
I guess one of my main question would be, when priced similarly which one of these two brands will likely be the better option?
any comment and impressions on Intel and MSI in terms of motherboards will be appreciated
