Is this a driver issue or a screwed fan. Im using the latest AMD RC driver.

I've been having what I think mobo problems and now the one fan in my crossfire setup isnt spinning.

It's the lower card and the fan that cools the vrm's isn't spinning unless I give it a tiny turn, then it fires up. It's not always but it's been more frequent.

Driver or card issue?

What's your thoughts?

Sounds like a defective fan, cards with multiple fans usually have them wired in parallel on one header, except for the tach wire which is only driven by one of the fans. If you increase the fan speed on the problem card, does the fan spin up more easily?

Fab spins nice a free, its just at idle when the bottom card isnt active then when crossfire kicks in the one fan just sitts there unless I reach in and touch it, then it spins to beat hell.

Bad fan, RMA it. More than likely a sticky bearing.

RMA was done yesterday and it's not a bad bearing.

It dont do it all the time. Once the fans on its ok but when the power play crap kicks in to shut the one card off when not in use then thats when it generally has issues starting up.

Maybe MSI will send me a V2 card as the RMA center is in Canada where I gota send it to. The last time I talked to the Canadian company the y said they dont repair cards there, they just issue new ones for rma.

Hey FF, it seems like those msi cards have given you excessive trouble from the start :(

I hope it gets straightened out soon and your replacement comes quickly! :)

Thanks matt, I just haven't had any luck really with a lot of my hardware. The card is a V1 so I expect some issue but you know fans are always a hit and miss. My one Corsair SP 120 on my rad is getting noisy lol but what's one to do beside spend another $20 on a twin pack.

I filled out the RMA on Saturday and got a RMA number and instructions on where and how to send it. I thought it was odd I wasn't asked in any of the fields I filled out when and when I bought the card. Is that normal for MSI? I had better put a copy of the bill in with the card to be safe.

One good thing I hope is to get the same version #2 that clocks like a mofo plus with the same bios they should play real nice together.
