    if the price of their recent gaming grade laptops is anything to go by - i doubt this one will be any cheaper with all these features

    Why go for that? lol That Nvidia chip is way faster and with 1GB of ram it should wipe the floor with that 3850.

    The extra 512 is a waste of silicon. It does nothing except at very high res with a very detailed game, which, this card can't play. Just sayin...

    maybe so but whats to stop you plugging the laptop into a monitor & playing it that way??

    Well it still beats a 3850 in any game. And I think that you could play most games at high settings.

    should not be too expensive

    this should be around 1300-1400, if you look at other msi gaming notebook the gt700 or 600 series, you will see that the price is not all that high, I am going to get one of these myself, because these notebooks are priced pretty good for the hardware they got.

    You still can't play at 2560x1600 or even 1920 in a game where the mem helps, is what I mean. FPS will just be too low.

    9800m GS is a main stream desktop GPU, so the gpu doesn't have to rendering power of handling ultra quality textures...so yea, that 512mb out of that 1GB is a waste.
