MSI Radeon HD 6790 Graphics Card Pictured

A little later next week, AMD will unveil its new upper-mainstream SKU, the Radeon HD 6790. After pictures Sapphire's card, it's MSI's turn. The MSI R6790 looks to be making use of the same non-reference PCB MSI used on other Radeon HD 6800 series graphics card, with a similar single-fan VGA heatsink. MSI's cooler uses a long aluminum fin array to which heat is fed by three direct-touch copper heat pipes. The Radeon HD 6790 is based on the 40 nm Barts GPU, with 800 stream processor enabled, and 1 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface. Display outputs include two each of DVI and mini-DisplayPort 1.2, and one full-size HDMI 1.4a.

Should perform nicely since barts is awesome already. Probably faster than 4890/5830 in DX9/10 and give the 5850 a run for the money in DX11 when overclocked.

It would need to be priced £100 or lower because the 6850 is already about £110-130 over here in the UK

I paid £130 inc p+p for my 6850 tail end of last year but that was a good price when a lot where £150

Infact id like to know how well it performs next to the 6850 first.

I can tell you this right now (my speculation) once you overclock both to max potential but keeping them in balance on core the 6850 would pull ahead.

this will come under the performance of a HD6850. although possibly match a 6850 when overclocked. Should retail for less than £100 contending with the 550Ti
