Hello I want to pick up 3 Acer Predator XB270HU monitors once AMD release their new cards in a few months. But one thing I want to know. Will the screens all run @ 144hz in Eyefinity?

Is 144hz even worth it? Is a 4k monitor @ 60hz 'better'?

Dunno, but I don't see any cards pushing that many pixels at 144hz.

Whether you prefer spatial or temporal resolution is down to you and the games you play.

Thing to realize is, three monitors is such a massive amount of pixels, that I can't see any system maintaining 144fps in a demanding modern game.

If you were talking just one monitor, then sure, get a 144Hz one. You also want strobing backlight capability to remove all motion blur. I don't know of such a monitor that does above 120Hz with a strobing backlight, though.

I didn't know you needed a strong system to maintain high hertz. Learn something new everyday.

Ok. Now that's off the table.

Will it run 3 Philips BDM4065UC 40in 4K UHD monitors?

3840 x 2160 = 8,294,400 Pixels
8,294,400 x 3 = 24,883,200 Pixels
24,883,200 x 60 = 1,492,992,000 Pixels per Second

2560 x 1440 = 3,110,400 Pixels
3,110,400 x 3 = 9,331,200 Pixels
9,331,200 x 144 = 1,343,692,800 Pixels per Second

It is kind of a rough way to estimate it, but 3x4k@60Hz will likely be more demanding than 3x1440p@144Hz because the cards will have to render more pixels per second.

I only plan to game on one monitor and use the others for other things.... I'll see if Eyefinity will work. But if it doesn't I'll stick to one.

If you only plan to game on one, then your current setup should handle that just fine.

I don't game but I am really interested in that Acer monitor. I don't understand why, but most monitors don't have height adjustment. I find that very irritating. I want my monitors to sit so the centers are just slightly below straight out in front of me (about chin level) and I don't want raise or lower my chair, or stick an ugly phone book under the monitors to make that happen. Nor do I want to cringe my neck looking up or down all the time. Plus, my desk has a hutch where the bottom of the shelf sits 19 inches above the desktop surface.

My two current 22" Samsung monitors have height adjustment and have been great for the last 5 years, but I've been looking to replace them with 24-27in and this Acer seems to fit the bill. I finally found an excellent and detailed review that listed thorough specs where it shows the height can be adjusted from 401 - 511mm (15.8 - 20.1 inches). That will work with my hutch. :)

I note that monitor also has 4 x USB 3.0 ports (1 with charging support) - though the 1 with charging is on the left side of the monitor which I won't be able to access because the hutch as a cabinet on the left. Oh well.

No speakers! :) Except for an office computer where you only need to hear Windows sounds, I don't understand putting speakers in monitors. I know miniature speaker technologies have improved a lot over the years, but they still sound tinny. Don't most enthusiast have a decent set of speakers? I have surround sound with the rears mounted on the wall behind me.

The side and top bezels at 11mm (.43 inch) is nice too - especially in a multi-monitor setup where you have them sitting side-by-side with an extended desktop across them.

The big downside is it only supports DisplayPort inputs and my card only has one. :( And according to that review,
You can't unfortunately use regular and widely available DVI to DisplayPort adapters as they don't work when taking DVI output from the graphics card to DP input in the monitor.

Note that review also talks about some other comparative monitors including the excellent Asus ROG Swift PG278Q and several BenQ models, but if you want this monitor for gaming, the conclusion says it all,
Move over Asus ROG Swift PG278Q, in our opinion we've got a new king of gaming monitors!

I need to do some research for this. But does the Philips company have manufacturing in different countries ? If so get the monitor if it's produced in a good place (no idea what a "good place" is tho) . The Philips monitors sold in my country are not so good. They all have very low ratings and people keep sending them back.
