mx1000 problems

I think I may have damaged this thing, or fried it. It is my first wireless mouse, I've been using it for a month or two now, and lately the cursor has been skipping all around randomly, sometimes won't click on things correctly, etc.

I just realized I may have been charging it wrong. I've been putting it on the stand with the power switch "on". Is this ok?

I just put it on the stand with the switch in the off position, seems to be charging better.

Has anyone else had this type of problem?

EDIT: Uh, I think it just started hating the USB port it was plugged into, switched to a different one and it works with no skipping or going nuts.

My chipset fan has been going out on me, stopping sometimes, gotta move it before it starts spinning again.. wonder if it done damage to my chipset.

been using the mx1000 since last christmas, no problems yet... other than the usual wireless mouse lag in fps games....

Goddamnit...

Still the same problem even with different USB port. How do you charge yours? I lost the manual, hopefully I haven't been charging it wrong, I paid 90dollars for this mouse.

I don't want to go back to my mx518, even though I loved it too.

lets see.... every other day or so when i realize i forgot that day before to charge it... i throw it on the charger and go to bed... wake up.... power on computer... remove mouse and 'compute'.

That's what I did too. I didn't bother turning the power off. Maybe my chipset is going berzerk?

I've had mine for a few months...I never turn it off when I charge it...works fine. I NEVER get mouse lag...although JUST ONCE in Battlefield 2 I was trying to fly a helicopter and it was being all jerky...but that was just a one time glitch I think. But I do HATE THE WAY THE PADS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUSE LEAVE BLACK GAY SHIT ALL OVER MY FUCKING DESK!

You're supposed to use a mousepad.....

Anyway, I still can't figure this out... it works fine most of the time, but sometimes it is all jerky, skipping all around, and I can't figure it out.

It's some kind of interferance I think

I've tried resetting it, and everything I could think of. I just blew the lens off too.

I gave it a good whack just now, the problems are gone for now, but dunno if it will come back. Still trying to figure out what it is.

I don't think recharging without switching it off would have caused the problems you'r experiencing.
I've never switched it off...

What you really need to do is clean the lens with a cotton bud so that you can get right in there.

I've had my MX1000 since december 2004 and have never turned it off longer than a minute. It still works okay for me

It worked when you changed USB port?

Try the mouse with a different computer. May be your USB ports.

I still got my Logo

I had a prob where when I took it off the charger it would just stay on red or some crap, reset wouldent work but it worked after I unpluged the dammed thing from everywhere.

I read somewhere that teflon tape can fix the whole black guck issue, dono where you could find that though

oh wait that was for using it on a glass surface.
